Getting the Best Out of Exercise: When? Where? How? (Part 3)

In our previous blog posts, we’ve been looking at how you can get the most out of your exercise regime. We’ve already covered the ‘when’ and ‘where’, so today, to finish our series off, we’ll conclude with the question of ‘how?’ We’ll now look at a few ways that you can improve the way in which you workout. So here we go our guide on getting the best out of exercise.

The type of exercise you do isn’t the only important part of your workout. It’s also essential that you feed your body what it needs before and after a workout. You need protein to help your muscles rebuild, so make sure to get plenty before a workout. You could do this through protein shakes, or simply by picking your pre-workout meal wisely. It’s also important to make sure you keep yourself hydrated throughout your workout, as well as before and after to ensure that you don’t become dehydrated.

Weight Traininggetting the best out of exercise

Many people think that if you’re trying to lose weight, you should be focusing entirely on cardio workouts such as running, swimming or cycling. Although you will need to get stuck into the cardio, your body needs more than that. Weight training is essential to all workouts, regardless of your end goal. Not only is it a high intensity workout, but it also helps to build muscle mass which, in turn, makes it easier for you to lose fat and turn it into muscle. You won’t become a huge beefcake from doing a few weight training sessions, but you will improve your strength and fitness.

Good Form

One of the most important elements of your workout, whatever exercise you are doing, is to maintain good form. It is particularly important to keep a good form when you are training with weights, as you can cause yourself injury if you don’t have good form. It’s a good idea to get a trainer to show you how to keep the perfect form when exercising to make sure you get it right.
