How much weight can I expect to lose at your fitness boot camp in Thailand?

Here at our Fresh Start fitness boot camp in Thailand we expect you to lose between 1 and 8 kilo’s which is between 4 and 17 pounds. The exact amount depends on lots of factors. Which include how much extra weight you are carrying , genes, your metabolism, current fitness levels and height. Plus how hard you work on our fitness and weight loss camp.Please be aware that we cannot guarantee specific results and results vary from person to person. I am not interested in losing lots of weight but would like to tone up and reduce my fat percentage, is this OK?

Yes our programme will help you to tone up and reduce your fat percentage. You can add some extra calories if weight loss is not your goal. Lots of our guests have fitness and health as their goals or just want an active holiday with some cultural and sight-seeing elements. It’s the perfect place to re-connect with yourself and to spend some time outside in nature.

Is the fitness boot camp holiday suitable for very active and fit people?

Yes it certainly is! At Fresh Start fitness boot camp holiday we promise that regardless of your current fitness level our program and instructors will challenge you physically and push you to achieve your individual best. Our Fitness Holiday Program will increase your all round fitness levels. Plus at the same time you will meet like-minded people in a fantastic tropical setting.

My main goal with regards to my body shape is to become leaner and get rid of my ‘beer belly’. Do you think I will be able to achieve my goal?

Doing our boot camp will be a great way to get rid of your beer belly. We get many guests who have this as a goal and it’s amazing to see their flatter tummy transformation.

What if I haven’t exercised for a while and feel unfit?

Please don’t worry our boot camp holiday is designed to kick-start your fitness and the body adapts very quickly. We get a real variety of fitness abilities and modify and adapt all the sessions so everyone can participate and achieve good results. Our experienced instructors will test and monitor your fitness levels so you get the most out of each session.

What is a typical fitness boot camp day?

Each fitness boot camp day is different and very varied which our guests really like and enjoy. Our boot camp holiday days start with a power walk and finish with yoga or aqua and a lovely massage or far Sauna. In between we do circuit training, kettle bell classes, pilates, orienteering around the local area, pool games, team games, cardio tennis and the exercise track which is set in a shaded mango grove. We also leave the Resort and have days out to experience Thai culture. Have a cycle day to an elephant sanctuary and water fall, visit a lake, Doi Suthep Temple and authentic Muay Thai boxing gym in downtown Chiang Mai. We also use the facilities of Traidos Community which has an Olympic size swimming pool, tennis academy, sports fields and gym.

I’m concerned because I’m not good at cycling or tennis?

You don’t need to be able to play tennis to take part in cardio tennis. We have a special alternative day for guests that can not cycle.

Do you have solo travellers, couples or friends attending your fitness holidays?

Most people who attend our fitness holidays come on their own and occasionally we have a couple or two friends coming together.

We are concerned about coming in the rainy season, does the rain affect the program?

We are happy to tell you that the rain rarely affects the program and is it quite pleasant and refreshing if we do occasionally get caught in it. It generally rains in the late afternoon, evening or the night-time when we are sleeping. When it rains it comes in short bursts and does not last long so there is nothing to worry about. It is also a lovely time of year because the countryside is very lush and green.

I am not sure if I am suited to the “bootcamp” type sessions as I just do not respond well to shouting. What component of the fitness camp is made up of these type sessions?

Please let us reassure people that we do not shout aggressively at our guests, we only encourage in a positive and encouraging way. Moreover, all the bootcamp elements are meant to be fun and to give our guests some new experiences. Richard Thomas who devised the fitness camp program was a Physical Training Instructor in the British Royal Marines. In addition, Richard has added some fun boot camp style workouts which he did with his new recruits.

What is the holiday bootcamp accommodation like?

The Resort has been rated one of the top 10 health resort destinations by Asia Spa magazine. The accommodation has been chosen with your comfort in mind. The beds are very comfortable and cosy to assure you have a good nights sleep after each holiday bootcamp day. Each pool deluxe room has satellite TV, fridge, air-con, safe and wireless Internet. Furthermore, the rooms over look our natural water pool and landscaped gardens.

I have some dietary requirements can you cater for me?

That is absolutely fine we cater for all dietary needs. On the first day you arrive the resort will give you the plan of our bootcamp menu. You can make amendments to the meals to cater for your dietary requirements. We can cater for all food intolerances and food choices and one of the restaurant staff will be there to help you.

What should I pack for the fitness holiday program?

When we receive your booking we will send you the recommended kit list for the fitness holiday program. We will also send you a health questionnaire, the Fresh Start Fitness Bootcamp menu and a schedule.

Do I need to take antimalarial tablets? 

You will be glad to know there is no there is no malaria where we are based.

Has the Fitness Resort got WiFi and laundry service?

Yes there is Free WiFi in all the hotel rooms and at the Fitness resort facilities. There is also a laundry service.

How do I pay the balance at the end of my boot camp holiday?

You can pay your balance to the resort using Visa, American Express , Master card or cash.

Do I need a visa?

For most countries, you get a 30-day visa on arrival and you normally fill in a form on the plane which you hand into immigration at Bangkok airport. You can take a look at this web site if you are unsure – World Wide Travel Guide

I’m interested but the dates don’t suit my time table. Can they be changed?

Yes, the dates can be changed to suit your timetable. We run boot camp retreats all year round so you can start and finish when you like. If you can please let us know your dates then we can work out the price for you.

Can you confirm that the program still proceeds regardless of the number of participants?

Yes, I can confirm that the program still proceed regardless of the number of participants. You will be happy to know we have never cancelled a bootcamp in 7 years :-) 

Can we bring our children with us?

Yes, some guests will bring a nanny, babysitter or family member to look after their children while they are attending our fitness boot camp. Also, we have 2 swimming pools, a kids menu and lots of places to explore.

I want to stay a few days extra and explore the area can you recommend some places to visit.
